DREADED DRONE! List Of Missing Ugandans Emerges

3 Mins read

A drone also described as An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is an aircraft without a human pilot on board. Ordinarily, thats the meaning. However, in Uganda, the drone has become synonymous with tales of kidnappings and torture.

A van with tinted dark glasses is now being referred to as the drone.

The opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) party accuses government of kidnapping its supporters and torturing them with most suspected to have been taken using the so called drone.

NUP puts the number of those missing at 3000.

Last week, Internal Affairs Minister Gen Jeje Odongo told Parliament that the government is only aware of 31 missing persons whose whereabouts they are yet to establish.

He said a total of 44 reported kidnappings had been recorded at several police stations but only 13 had been investigated conclusively by the police.

The Daily Monitor published the list below of missing people.
