Buganda Road Court has issued a warrant of arrest to the overweight pastor Franklin Mugisha Mondo of the Kampala based Empowerment Christian Centre Church International.
Pastor Mondo is of fleecing worshipers of more than Shs4.5billion.
He is alleged to have got the money from his flock by promising them scholarships abroad.
The arrest warrant was issued by Buganda Road court Chief Magistrate, Gladys Kamasanyu after Mondo failed to appear before the same court yesterday.
“Since criminal summons were extended on January 28 in agreement that his counsel brings him (Mondo) today, but in vain a warrant of arrest is hereby issued to compel him to come to court,” said Magistrate, Gladys Kamasanyu.
Pastor Mondo is charged with obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to commit fraud.
He is jointly charged with the remanded Pastor Siraj Ssemanda, the founder of Revival Church Bombo in Luweero District.
