Maj Gen Sabiti Muzeyi fired as Gen Muhoozi Takes Over SFC

Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj Gen Sabiti Muzeeyi has been fired and replace with Maj Gen Paul Lokech.

IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has retained is top police Job.

The changes were announced in a statement that has been seen by Ug Mirror.

“By the powers conferred on the president by he constitution and other relevant laws, i have deciced to make the following appointments involving the army and the police

  1. Mr Ochola is hereby re-appointed as inspector general of police
  2. Maj Gen Paul Lokech is appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of the police.
  3. LT Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is appointed as commandant of SFC but will also retain his appointment as senior presidential advisor handling the security issue he has been handling.
  4. Maj Gen Sabiti goes back to headquarters for redeployment.
  5. Maj Gen Birungyi will replace Maj Gen Lokech on the special assignment in South Sudan.

The the appointments take immediate effect, with the police appointments, they need parliamentary approval.

I will communicate appropriately to the speaker of Parliament.

I congratulate the UPDF for defeating the insurrection that the traitors, with their foreign backers, attempted to stage a few weeks BACK.

The Police force must be made to do its duty of defending Ugandans from lawlessness, threat to life and property.

Any police person that does not do this, must leave the police (.) there are thousands ready to replace Them.”
