Bobi Wine’s producer Dan Majic and his police bodyguard ASP Kato were brutally injured in the face as a row ensued between Bobi Wine supporters and the police in Kayunga.

“The police and military have attacked us yet again, shot and injured many of my team members and other Ugandans who gathered to wave to me in Kayunga,” said Bobi Wine in a Facebook post after being teargassed.

He further added in a statement that; “My friend and producer Dan Magic has been hit in the face! ASP Kato, a police officer attached to me has also been badly injured. Many comrades are gravely injured. Pray for us. Pray for Uganda. We shall overcome!”

Police also fired bullets and teargas canisters to disperse the crowds that had gathered to show their support for Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine further condemned the security forces for being violent whenever they are trying to send the peace of message to the people.

“The struggle for freedom and democracy is worth every pain. Ultimately, the people of Uganda will triumph!

“Like I said a few days ago, we start every day not knowing how it will end. We come in peace to preach our message, but the military responds to us with brutality and violence.

“Yet in all this, we know that our struggle is a just one. Gen. Museveni will eventually understand that this country belongs to Ugandans.”
