Uganda Is Getting Closer To Breaking Point — Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu

Alliance for National Transformation presidential candidate Rtd Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu has revealed that the impunity of security operatives against opposition politicians is driving the country towards a break point.

“The impunity with which security operatives are operating in the continued harassment and now arrest of @HEBobiwine is leading this country closer towards a breaking point. We join @NUP_Ug and all fair-minded Ugandans in calling upon his immediate release. #CountryBeforeSelf,” reads the tweet on Mugisha Muntu’s timeline.

His tweet comes after National Unity Platform President, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi was arrested today in Luuka district where he was scheduled to campaign.

Upon his arrest, he was transferred to Nalufenya police station in Jinja city.

After his arrest, protests broke up in cities of Jinja, Masaka and Kampala.

Police and Military has fired teargas and live bullets to disperse the rioters who were burning tyres and blocking the roads.

The most affected parts of Kampala include Kampala road, Downtown, Kisseka market, Kireka, Kyaliwajala, Salaama road among others.
