MTN Uganda Acquires Naming Rights For KCCA FC Stadium

MTN Uganda has acquired naming rights for KCCA FC’s stadium and sponsorship Partnership at Lugogo. 

MTN Uganda was represented by the Chief Marketing Officer, Sen Somdev and KCCA FC was represented by the Club chairman and CEO while KCCA was represented by the line Executive Minister and the director education and social services, Olive Namazzi.

According to Somdev, their focus during this period is to help the club redevelop to their desired status.

The Chief Executive Officer, KCCA FC Anisha Muhoozi, said they initially terminated the contract of the former naming rights holder.

“StarTimes was initially terminated and MTN comes on as the new stadium naming rights partner,” she said

He said maintenance of the local players is still a big challenge and when we receive such partnerships, sports is elevated to a certain level.

He added that a lot also needs to be done in upgrading the standards of our stadium facilities to improve the game.

For the next ten years, KCCA Stadium shall go by the name; “MTN-OMONDI STADIUM” and it remains the home of legends.

Phillip Omondi was immortalised because of his illustrious career and towering legacy. 

KCCA FC was established in 1963 and has an enviable profile and pedigree.

The Club values that heritage as the strongest fan-based club in the country and region since they are the CECAFA Champions.
