Presidential hopeful and Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi who is famously known as Bobi Wine has met the Katikiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter Mayiga.

The meeting took place yesterday at Buganda Kingdom Offices in Bulange, Mengo, Kampala.

It is believed that Hon Kyagulanyi officially presented his presidency bid to Buganda kingdom.

“Let me take this opportunity to appreciate Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom for hosting us yesterday at Bulange, Mengo,” said Bobi Wine in a Facebook statement.

He further added that; “For the longest time I was known as ‘Omubanda wa Kabaka’ because of the deep respect I have for tradition and culture, and it is always such a pleasure for me to visit the Kingdom.

“I encourage all Ugandans, especially the young generation, to always find pleasure in our respective cultures and traditions as the foundation of our society. We had very fruitful deliberations.

Bobi Wine however condemned the conduct of security forces that injured some of his supporters who had escorted his delegation.

“It is very unfortunate that right after the leadership of the police had just left Bulange to apologise for using excessive force against Mbogo Clan elders on the weekend, the same police and the military used the same brute force against our people, leaving several of them injured.”

The Katikkiro of Buganda, requested voters to vote the people they believe will fight for Buganda kingdom and uphold the kingdom’s values.
