Kampala Lord Mayor hopeful, Joseph Mayanja commonly known as Jose Chameleone, has finally launched his office on Balintuma road, Mengo, Kampala.

Last week, police fired teargas to disperse Mayanja’s crowds that had come to witness his office launch.

The force accused the crowds of not adhering to COVID-19 standard operating procedures which undermined the government’s effort of fighting the pandemic.

Although, the launch was not interrupted by security forces, some of the SOPs were not also observed posing a great risk of contracting the virus.

In his address, Mayanja said no amount of threat will divert him from the mission of liberating Uganda and the journey to fight for the citizens of this country.

“Our office launch was interrupted. I would like to thank all the senior members in the struggle, it was unfortunate that we were teargassed last time, we are ready for another teargas and we won’t give up,” he said.

He said the leader of National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi has given him enough courage to join the struggle of making Uganda a better nation.

“My brother Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu our president to be 2021 told me that Joseph wake up, Uganda needs you, so these are our offices as we officially kick off the struggle to make Uganda a better country,” he said.

He urged the public to joined the struggle noting that the country can’t be liberated without a concerted effort.

“My People, I launch this office after spending one year with the mind of causing change in the country. I decided to fight for the people of Uganda. Let’s join the fight and do the needful,” he urged.
