Stanbic Closes Metro Branch As Another Staff Tests Positive For COVID-19

The management of Stanbic Bank Uganda has confirmed that one of its staff members at the Metro branch in Kampala has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The bank has been forced to close the branch temporarily as staff members isolated and test for COVID-19.

The branch will now be to only the officials from the Ministry of Health officials so that they can disinfect the premises and it will only open after a certificate from Ministry of Health is given to them.

This is the second branch of Stanbic that has been closed due to COVID-19.

Clients of the bank are now encouraged to use mobile banking and the other opened branches that will continue to observe SOPs.

Uganda has registered 77 more positive cases today, bringing the cumulative total of cases to 2,756 while 1,288 people have so far recovered.
