As COVID-19 cases continue to go on the rise, many entities are now confirming COVID-19 cases amongst their staff.
Yesterday, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development confirmed 21 COVID-19 cases confirmed from samples taken from all their staff.
According to Keith Muhakanizi, the Ministry is going to scale down and minimize direct contact meetings and maintain zero laxity to safety protocols that have been provided by the Ministry of Health.
Uninvited visitors will be required to present COVID-19 certificates for them to be able to access the premises.
In the same manner, Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) also confirmed one COVID-19 cases amongst their staff at the head office.
All the staff at the head office will be required to go into mandatory quarantine for 14 days as tests continue to be conducted.
There will also be no visitors allowed at the premises until further notice.
Uganda currently has 2,362 confirmed COVID 19 cases with Kampala continuing to ahve the highest number of cases, 1,248 recoveries and 22 COVID-19 deaths.
Among the 2 newly confirmed deaths, one was a 35 year old female trader from Kikuubo and the other was a 36 year old trader from Kisenyi in Kampala.
President Museveni is expected to address the public this week and he is likely to reinforce another lockdown as the public has become relaxed in following COVID-19 guidelines.
