Man Commits Suicide Over Divorce And Bank Loan During COVID-19

The out break of coronavirus in the country has greatly affected almost every sector including businesses since many were unable to carry on with their normal activities.

As a result many businessmen in Kampala have on several occasions come asking the government intervention to rescue their businesses given the fact that many have bank loans and accumulated rent arrears for the period they have spent not working.

Due to pressure on how this bank loan can be paid back, this has forced a one Alex Baguma in Kanoni Sub County Kazo District to Commit suicide.

According to a source, the man of God who was in his 40s was found hanging lifeless in a big Eucalyptus tree in Bwagonga 111 Kanoni.

The eye witness Tumuhirwe Allan narrated that it was in the morning when he was moving to the farm but he was shocked to see the body hanging lifeless he had to run and inform the responsible authorities.

In an interview with the district Councilor Kanoni sub county, Mr Fred Ntungire who was at the scene, witnessed that the deceased had his personal problems, whereby he recently divorced with his wife and had a bank loan which was giving him sleepless nights to the extent of vacating his house in fear of being caught by the bank loans officers.

The sources also revealed that this is not the first time Alex had tried to take his life, last year he took poison and was immediately taken to Kagongo hospital where he was rescued but today no one was in the bush to rescue him before committing suicide.
