1 Mins read

Yesterday, the Ministry of health Uganda confirmed 4 new COVID-19 cases out of the 1,578 samples tested among truck drivers.

The new confirmed cases are Tanzanian truck drivers who arrived via Mutukula border.

All 411 samples from communities tested negative for COVID-19.

Truck drivers have since remained a big threat to the measures put in fighting COVID – 19.

It should be noted that all the 15 cases registered from the past week are for truck drivers from Tanzania and Kenya.

The government has since suggested that new measures be put in place to avoid the spread of COVID – 19.

It should noted that Kenya has ordered targeted mass testing of truck drivers after it emerged that the east African nation has been exporting Covid-19 to neighbouring countries.
