Few weeks ago the Democratic Party leadership had  agreed to end the wrangles between some of its members and party president general Norbert Mao.

Recently, DP legislators came out publicly and accuse their party president Norbert Mao of misleading the party.

As a measure to end all these internal conflicts, Mao convened a close door meeting with aggrieved members of parliament.

In the meeting, the members agreed to work on the anomalies that were cited in the just concluded party grassroots polls.however this seemed not have yield any result.

Earlier today, DP members became rowdy and resorted to fighting each other following a disagreement over matters relating to how to select candidates for the primaries.

The party leadership had planned a National Executive Meeting (NEC).

However, word went around that the party president Norbert Mao had planned to suspend the party’s organizing secretary Sulaiman Kidandala, but other members tried to stop this, leading to the altercation.
