Makerere University’s food and living out allowances delayed

1 Mins read

The Ag. Makerere University secretary, Yusuf Kiranda addressed a letter to the government sponsored students yesterday about their food and living out allowances that are to be given earlier next week.

The letter informed students about the requirements in order to receive the allowances. They are expected to be enrolled on Academic Information Management System (AIMS) and zero balance. It also states that 100% of the living out allowance will be paid and only 50% of the food allowance.

This has left the bigger part of the student body very dissatisfied and in total disappointment as they expected the late payment to be complete.

However there was another letter released earlier on 22nd January by the Ag. Makerere University Bursar, Lubowa Gyaviira where the students were promised allowances by 31st January. The letter also stated that the delay was due to adjustment to the budget to provide for some activities related to teaching, internship and student allowances.

Below is the letter addressed to the students.
