The former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi died at age 95 after spending over a month in hospital. His death was confirmed by his press secretary Lee Njiru and announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta. He has asked that the national flags are drawn at half-mast from today until the late is laid to rest.
He was hospital led for over a month at Nairobi Hospital. He ruled Kenya for 24 years until 2002 where he handed over to President Mwai Kibaki. He was also Kenya’s longest serving president after taking over power from President Jomo Kenyatta.
At the end of his regime, Kenya had the most developed economy in East Africa. Details about laying the deceased to rest will follow later.
