Makerere University Halts Tuition Increment After Bloody Strike

Makerere University administration has bowed to students’ pressure and announced a halt on the 15% cumulative tuition increment that had led students protests in the last couple of days.

This revelation was made earlier today at a press conference at the University where the acting VC, Umar Kakumba.

This comes after over four days of striking by students over the 15% tuition increment that was earlier announced by the university.

Many students however remain locked up for striking while others have been suspended from the University over the same.

‘Most students who participated in the strike were discontinued from studying in the previous years, they only turn up when there’s a strike, they want to stir violence. They are nolonger our students, some belong to different opposition groups,” acting MAK VC, Umar Kakumba said.
