DPP Resurrects Case of Man Burnt at Jose Chameleone’s Home

1 Mins read

Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Justice Mike Chibita has this afternoon ordered the police to reopen the murder case file of Robert Karamagi, who was burnt at the home of renowned local artist Joseph Mayanja a.k.a Dr Jose Chameleone over seven years ago.

This comes at a time when Chameleone has shown interest in politics, specifically eyeing the seat of Mayor under the Democratic Party (DP).

The deceased was allegedly burnt on December 26 2012 at the home of Chameleone located along Entebbe Road High way, Seguku.

Karamagi’s death remains baffling up to date as Daniella Mayanja, the wife to the singer, reportedly said that the deceased who had intruded their residence; burnt himself in the process as he tried to burn her.

This case has been baffling over the years as it was again reopened in 2015 after Father of the deceased Maj. Benedicto Kyamanywa stormed the office of the DPP asking that the case be reopened.

Four years ago, Chameleone became a free man again, after the DPP lost interest in the case citing lack of satisfactory evidence found to have the file sanctioned in courts of law.
