Bobi Wine Promoter Bajjo released, sureties National IDs confiscated

Earlier today, Buganda Road Magistrates Court released, Bobi Wine promoter, Andrew Mukasa, also known as Bajjo Events on bail.

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Stella Amabilis accepted the promoter’s bail application, asking him to deposit a cash bond of Shs4M.

Each of his sureties was also asked to pay a non-cash bond of Shs20M but also ordered to deposit their National IDs with the court until the case which has been adjourned to July 25 is done.

Bajjo was charged with inciting violence contrary to section 83(i) of the Penal Code Act stemming from a video he released on social media in which he threatened to overthrow President Museveni before 2021.

Bajjo was arrested by security last month as he addressed a press conference about the People Power Marathon at Centenary Park in Kampala.
