Four Arrested For Stealing Car Number Plates

Greater Masaka Police spokesperson Paul Kangave has confirmed the arrest of four suspects for plucking off car number plates.

He said that the police flying squad in Masaka has apprehended four suspects for plucking off number plates on cars and   leaving their contacts to owners to pay.

He noted that the arrested have been identified as Bbale Kitasa 27 resident of Kyotera, Kamya Charles 36, Ssegawa Javira 48 a resident of Rakai and Habasa Charles 28.

He said the suspects were traced to their hiding places in Rakai and Kyotera and found with some number plates.

“We appealed to the public not to send money to the phones that are left but to immediately report to police when such happens,” he said.

Kangave Paul said the four suspects will be charged with theft of motor vehicle parts contrary to the section 267(C) of penal act
