Former Member of Parliament for Soroti Municipality Capt. Mike Mukula who doubles as the Vice Chairperson NRM, Eastern Uganda says   political parties are not a threat to the ruling party but it’s members.

In his speech during a meeting of NRM chairpersons in Eastern Region at Mbale Resort Hotel on Friday last week, Capt. Mukula said the party has many members fighting one another and are the real enemies of the party but not opposition.

“These political parties are not a challenge to National Resistance movement,” he said

He added that internal wrangles and corruption are the ruling party’s biggest challenges.

He further added that these challenges should be worked upon for the smooth running of the part other than blaming opposition yet the members with the party are fighting each other for their selfish interest.

“I want urge the Inspector General of Government to turn eyes on these fellows who are working tirelessly to taint the image of National Resistance Movement,” he explained.

Mukula said that People Power is not a threat to the National Resistance Movement.

He explained that NRM is stronger than any party because of its grassroots support of which it can’t be compared to any party in Uganda

“We should address the challenges that are within the party and the people fighting it but not opposition.”

Mr Mukula said the NRM government will solve the challenges of unemployment and poverty through the establishment of industries and other infrastructural development.

“We face challenges of unemployment but the government is committed to providing jobs through industrialisation.”
