Museveni arrives in Davos for the World Economic Forum

President Yoweri Museveni has arrived in Davos, a small town in the Swiss Alps, a popular ski resort that hosts the Annual World Economic Forum for a three-day working visit.

The President, who arrived at the Flughafen Zurich International Airport, was received by Uganda’s Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uganda to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Christopher Onyang Aparr, the Uganda Defence Attaché to the UN Mission in Switzerland, Brig. Moses Rwikitarate and officials from the Ugandan mission.

The theme for this year’s meeting is “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” focusing on how to make globalization work for everyone.

The meeting brings together leaders from every sector and every part of the world to discuss how to cooperate on the challenges ahead. 

Around 3,000 participants from business, government, civil society, arts, culture and media gather here for five days of sessions on some of the most pressing global challenges, including tackling climate change, fixing our broken economic system and preparing for the jobs of the future, which will all be explored in over 350 sessions.

The President will start his day tomorrow Wednesday January 23rd, 2019 with a breakfast meeting under the theme, Shaping Africa’s Agenda in Global Context.

Later, he will attend an interactive panel discussion titled “Peace building in Africa Platform”
