People Power Affiliated Activist Moses Bigirwa Charged & Remanded To Luzira Prison

Uganda Young Democrats and People Power Movement activist Moses Bigirwa was on Friday 4th January 2019 charged and remanded to Luzira

Moses Bigirwa is charged with inciting violence and giving false information about the NRM government that it planned to Kill Bobi Wine during the Fracas that occurred during Arua by-election.

Moses Bigirwa was arrested on December 29th 2018 after a radio talk show and detained at Kawempe police station.

While addressing journalist his lawyer Samuel Muyizzi Mulindwa says the incarceration of his client after a week was unconstitutional and expects that court will provide Justice to Moses Bigirwa.

“It’s a bit extraordinary since there is no objection from the start, the circumstances didn’t need much money to do,” he said

He added that he trusts the honourable court to offer Justice to Bigirwa since the matter of bail application lies in the desk of the trial magistrate.

 Emmauel Sserunjogi Major Kawempe division said what transpired in court has surprised him much as they had a successful battle of producing Bigirwa before court.

“I am sure it was not a wish of the police and army to keep Bigirwa in confinement for a week but due to pressure he has been produced before court,” he explained

According to the law development centre court Magistrate, Rosslyn Nsenge hearing of the case against Moses Bigirwa will start on 9th , January 2019.
