FDC members of parliament have reacted on the IPOD meeting that took place on 12thDecember, 2018 at Speke Resort Hotel Munyoyo.

Hon Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda, Member of Parliament for Kira Municipality and who doubles as FDC spokesperson said that in all the meetings President Museveni avails himself as the statesman and to that’s where everything ends.

“We didn’t want to be a party to a meeting whose resolutions will be resolution of workshop,” Ssemujju said.

“We have no ill intentions about our colleagues and other parties who went there, if they bring results that are taking forward this country, we will welcome them with our two hands but we don’t want to be so disappointed,” he added

He also said that as FDC they didn’t think it was going to be a different occasion,it will be like many others that have come and gone.

Francis Mwijukye, Member of Parliament for Buhweju county said that they can’t be called to go and talk in the hotel when FDC cannot carry out rallies.

“Once we talk about democracy, we do it and act it,” he said

“I just saw what happened in Munyoyo yesterday and it was a photo moment,” headded.

Gilbert Olanya, Member of Parliament Kilak South said that FDC needs ample time when to organize a real talk.

“If we are saying we can spare three or four days with the president attending and putting other things aside, there we would be more meaningful but coming for one or two hours and running away when parties are not satisfied is really meaningless,” he said

Meanwhile Odonga Otto, Member of Parliament Aruu County said that It would be right for FDC President, Patrick Amuriat to go and tell President Museveni when all people are listening that their rallies have been blocked, they are battling with police.

“I think the politics of FDC not appearing to IPOD is typical to Besigye’s kind of politics,” he said

On the other hand, Lucy Okello, Member of Parliament Amuru district said that that was an opportunity for FDC as a party to tell the president face to face that they are not happy with him for what he has been doing to FDC.
