The Uganda Police have ‘intercepted’ a hooded man riding on a boda boda, armed with Mikhail Kalashnikov’s infamous automatic rifle, the Avtomat Kalashnikova (AK-47).
On Wednesday, Ugandans were taken aback after the man in a blue hood rode freely among other motorists, raising eyebrows with some fearing he could be one of the assassins who have taken out prominent people before.
Many were left wondering whether the hooded man was a security guard.
However, a new picture has emerged showing a police officer interacting with the hooded man, allaying fears he could be a hitman on a mission to put people out of action. It is not clear where the police intercepted him from.
Former Deputy police chief, Andrew Felix Kaweesi, Joan Kagezi a former prosecutor and fallen lawmaker Ibrahim Abiriga are some of the prominent Ugandans who were killed by assassins riding on boda bodas.
Following their assassinations, President Museveni ban the wearing of hoodies as one of the security measures to curb the crime.
