Security Officers Who Torture Civilians Must Be fired With Disgrace — Ssemujju

1 Mins read

FDC spokesperson and Kyadondo municipality MP, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has revealed that soldiers who beat civilians should be fired from the service.

“Soldiers who are torturing people should be dismissed from security services in disgrace and they need to be tried in civilian courts under the anti-torture act and they must be ashamed,” said Ssemujju.

He further said that President Museveni should stop supporting and defending the soldiers who torture civilians.

“The arrest of Kawooya was on all televisions, Social media and in Newspapers and he now says Kawooya was biting those who were beating him. Once you are a president, you must consume the information that is correct. Call for videos and watch before you address the public because everybody saw how this man was wrestled down and being beaten.”

Ssemujju also said that FDC has taken a decision to write to different stakeholders on the deteriorating human rights in the country.

“We too a decision and we will be informing the Ministry of Internal affairs, Uganda Human rights commission and we want to also write to donors who are funding the law and order sector and our intention is to have a meeting with the whole of them and that letter will be delivered this week.”
