Yusuf Kawooya who was recently arrested in brutal way near Christ the King Church in Kampala is being held at the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence headquarters in Mbuya.
According to his lawyer Paul Kenneth Kakande, they have not yet been given a chance to see Kawooya.
“We know where he is, he is in CMI and we know who are holding him,” said Kakande before adding that; “We had a discussion with officials of CMI and we were supposed to meet him but unfortunately we have been unable to meet him because they told us they are in a closed meeting.
“The meeting will decide as to whether Yusuf Kawooya is released. It is upon their decision that we shall be able to chat a way forward.”
Kakande also revealed that he was told that his client is in good condition.
“They have told us that he has nothing wrong and he is enjoying himself somewhere and they haven’t told us of any charges against him.”
He further explained that the way Kawooya was arrested has attracted so much attention.
“The manner in which he was arrested has attracted a lot of attention from with in and without and I think that will form the basis of their decision of which they are going to make”
