Conman Arrested For Recruiting People To Work Abroad

Police in Kampala have arrested a man claiming to be an employee of a recruitment agency taking people to work abroad in China for allegedly conning millions of money from unsuspecting clients.

This comes after over 13 reports of obtaining money by false pretence were reported against a suspect identified as Nasser Seremba accusing him of conning his unsuspecting clients’ sums of money to a tune of Shs58million promising to help them acquire handsomely paying jobs abroad.

It’s believed that the suspect would after receiving money, issue fake receipts, process fake passports, visas and would later disappear.

The investigators say Seremba would narrate to his unsuspecting clients China stories, experiences and had promised over 13 graduates English teaching jobs through his rich connections as soon as they set foot in China.

Nasser is charged with human trafficking and obtaining money by false pretence and operating a recruitment agency without a licence.

The suspect is currently detained at Old Kampala Police Station vide SD REF. 63/25/06/2018
