The minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Maj. Gen Kahinda Otafiire has said that people should leave issues of the fired IGP Gen Kale Kayihura to the Military.

Otafiire made the remarks while celebrating the Anti- Torture day in Kampala.

“The former IGP is subject to military law as a serving army officer,” said Kayihura before adding that; “So why don’t you allow the General court Martial, the attendant courts of the law and the legal system of the army to deal with this.”

The former inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura was on 13th June 2018 picked up from his country farm in Lyantonde District and airlifted to Mbuya military base before being to Makindye Army barracks where he is currently detained with his other officers.

This website understands that more than 26 people, including police and military officers, have been arrested ever since the operation of Spraying ‘Kawukuumi’ out of Police started.
