President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned Maama Care Foundation, a high-tech nutrition food park in Bweyogerere Industrial Park, Wakiso District, with a call to entrepreneurs to establish more value addition facilities in the country.
President Museveni applauded Mr. Harris Bhuptani, Chairman of the facility, for investing in the country and adding value to Uganda’s products.
“The problem of Africa is unprocessed products. When they are not processed they fetch less value. If all the products were processed, the economy of Uganda would grow by about 10 times,” he said.
Mr. Museveni called on all Ugandans to embrace value addition strategy if the country is to realize development.
He pledged government’s support to Maama Care Foundation in order to enable the facility realize it’s full potential.
The nutrition food factory makes ready-to-eat, healthy, nutritious and fortified foods, characterized by special formulations for expectant mothers, school children and emergency/disaster relief for refugee settlements.
The Chairman of the facility, Mr. Harish Bhuptani, thanked President for his visionary leadership that has created an enabling environment that has seen private sector players invest in Uganda
