Red Pepper Bosses Survive Jail

Buganda Road Court has today morning set free Red Pepper bosses after the DPP withdrew charges that had been earlier slapped on them.

5 Red Pepper Bosses and 3 Editors of The Pepper Publications limited were late last year charged with Offensive Communication, Publication of Information Prejudicial to security and disturbing the peace of President Museveni, Gen Henry Tumukunde and Gen Salim Saleh.

The now free are; CEO, Richard Tusiime, Arinaitwe Rugyendo who is the CMO, Patrick Mugumya the COO, James Mujuni, the CCO, Muzinguzi Byarabaha the CFO, News Editors Ben Byarabaha, Richard Kintu and Francis Tumusiime.

This website understands that; Police has been investigating Red Pepper after they published serious statements and insinuations in a story that had grave implications on national and regional security and stability.

“Following the publication of a false story by the Red Pepper in their November 20. 2017 edition titled, “M7 PLOTTING TO OVERTHROW KAGAME-RWANDA”, the Uganda Police Force, this morning initiated investigations into the serious statements and insinuations in that story that have grave implications on national and regional security and stability,” Reads a statement signed by Police Spokesperson SSP Emilian Kayima last year
