As murder and kidnap cases increase in the Kampala and neighbouring districts, a body of a yet to be identified man has been recovered from a drainage channel in Kampala.
The body was found in a drainage channel along Kirundi Road, Luwafu Parish, Makindye division.
According to Kirundi Road, they had someone scream for help in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
“I was praying at night and I heard people shouting and flexing but I continued praying and that was around 4am,” said Kirundi Road resident before adding that; “I didn’t know that someone died. I was informed by the neighbours in the morning while in the bathroom and to open, I saw people gathering where the dead body was.”
Another resident revealed that; “It’s like he was a strong man. Some parts were burnt and when you look at where the dead body is, there are many stones.”
Residents further reveal that there was a Boda boda rider who said that he passed by around 4am and he saw people beating a man whom they called a thief.
The deceased was found with no identification and the residents decided to call police that took the body to Mulago hospital for post-mortem
