Jinja High Court has issued a warrant of arrest to NBS Barometer presenter Simon Muyanga Lutaaya for failure to pay a court fine worth Shs153million.

Simon Muyanga Lutaaya was fined after he lost the cases at Jinja High Court and Court of Appeal which he had filed against NRM’s Kenneth Lubogo’s victory in the 2016 parliamentary elections.

Lutaaya had contested on FDC ticket to become the MP of Bulamongi Constituency but he miserably lost to NRM’s Kenneth Lubogo.

Jinja High Court deputy registrar Mr Jesse Byaruhanga, yesterday issued the arrest warrant after Muyanga allegedly failed to honour court summons.

Muyanga is supposed to be arrested, sent to Kirinya prison or Nalufenya and his property sold off to recover the money.

Muyanga however says that he appealed the fine and requested Court to review it since it was very high.
