Museveni Forces Andrew Martial to Denounce Togikwatako

1 Mins read

President Museveni yesterday tasked National Resistance Movement candidate in Igara East by-elections Andrew Martial to come out and explain the accusations traded against him that he is part of the Togikwatako campaign.

Upon being tasked on why he wants to be part of the cliques that are coming up in NRM, Martial said that those are mere allegations and he fully supports the removal of Age Limit from the constitution.

“Mr. President, the allegations are not true. They were being geared by my political enemies. I totally support the amendment of Article 102(b) of the constitution. Tugikwatehooo!!” Martial said amidst cheers from the crowd.

Burahya County MP in Kabarole district and NRM Caucus Spokesperson, Hon. Margaret Muhanga supplemented by calling on the people of Igara East to support the Constitution Amendment to remove the Age Limit adding that they should continue supporting President Museveni.

In October, The Court of Appeal nullified the election of Andrew Martial, the Member of Parliament for Igara County East Constituency in Bushenyi district on grounds of voter bribery, and the offence of making a false statement concerning the character of a candidate and ordered fresh elections.

President Museveni spent much of his time yesterday camping for Andrew Martial ahead of Thursday’s by-election

The President urged the people of Igara East to support NRM’s Andrew Martial who worked for so long in the President’s Office.

“Support Andrew Martial. In a team, there are rules that must be followed. If you lose in the Primaries, do not stand as an Independent. You must wait for your turn. I urge all the NRM supporters to respect the rules of their team,” he emphasized.
