On Saturday afternoon, Rubabo County MP, Mary Paula Turyahikayo survived being lynched by angry youths as she conducted consultative meetings in her constituency.
Eyewitnesses reveal that Turyahikayo had to flee for her dear life when the youth booed her and turned rowdy.
This website understands that most youth opined that there are other pressing needs that are affecting the country and changing Article 102 (b) is of no use to solving the problems affecting the country.
The youth also blamed the MP for doing nothing to change their constituency since the roads and health services are still in a terrible state.
It’s worth noting that Most MPs have faced tough times as they try to consult their people on changing article 102(b) of the constitution that will see the age limit for presidency be removed.
The private members bill to amend the constitution was tabled in parliament by Igara west MP, Raphael Magyezi.
