Masindi district council Denounce Age Limit Removal

Masindi district council unanimously passed a resolution no to amend article 102 (b) of the constitution.

The Motion to reject the amendment was moved by youth councillor, Joseph Wamani who opined that there is no need to amend 102 (b) of the constitution because this would guarantee life presidency.

The Motion was put to vote via a secret ballot and 16 out of 21 councillors voted in favour of the motion while 4 abstained.

The age limit debate has sparked violence all over the country with its ignition centre being the Parliament where the SFC forces brutally beat and kicked out those who are against the amendment of the constitution.

The private members bill to amend the constitution was tabled in parliament by Igara west MP, Raphael Magyezi.
